Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: May 17, 2026
Last Updated: May 17, 2026

Romans Orthodontics is committed to ensuring equal access to high-quality orthodontic care and to our digital presence for all individuals, regardless of ability. This Accessibility Statement applies to our physical office at 3618 W. Anthem Way, Suite D120, Anthem, AZ 85086, and to our website at romansorthodontics.com.

1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

Romans Orthodontics believes that every patient — including those with physical, sensory, cognitive, or communication disabilities — deserves full and equal access to our services. We are committed to compliance with:

  • The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), as amended, including ADA Title III requirements applicable to places of public accommodation

  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973

  • The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), as our benchmark for digital accessibility

  • Applicable Arizona accessibility standards under A.R.S. Title 41

2. Physical Accessibility of Our Office

Our facility has been designed with physical accessibility in mind:

  • Ground-level location: Our office is on the ground floor — no stairs or elevators required to access our suite

  • Reserved parking: Accessible parking spaces are available in our parking area in compliance with ADA standards

  • Accessible entrance: Our entrance accommodates wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, and other mobility devices

  • Accessible operatories: Treatment chairs and clinical areas are arranged to accommodate patients with mobility limitations

  • Accessible restrooms: ADA-compliant restroom facilities are available in or adjacent to our suite

If you have specific physical accessibility needs or require accommodation prior to your visit, please call us at (623) 320-1222 so we can prepare appropriately.

3. Communication Accessibility

Romans Orthodontics is committed to effective communication with all patients:

  • Auxiliary aids and services: We will provide appropriate auxiliary aids and services at no charge to ensure effective communication with patients and companions who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or have speech disabilities. This may include written materials, visual aids, or coordination of interpreter services.

  • Language access: Patients with limited English proficiency may request language assistance. Please notify us in advance when scheduling so we can make reasonable accommodations.

  • Large-print materials: Key practice documents and patient instructions can be provided in larger print upon request.

  • Alternative formats: We will work with patients on a case-by-case basis to provide information in alternative formats as needed.

4. Digital Accessibility — Website

We are actively working to ensure that romansorthodontics.com meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Our digital accessibility efforts include:

  • Providing text alternatives (alt text) for meaningful images

  • Ensuring sufficient color contrast between text and background elements

  • Supporting keyboard navigation throughout the Site

  • Using properly structured headings and semantic HTML to support screen readers

  • Ensuring form fields are labeled and error messages are descriptive

  • Providing captions or transcripts for video content where applicable

  • Designing for compatibility with common assistive technologies, including screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and voice control software

We recognize that digital accessibility is an ongoing effort. We periodically review our website for accessibility issues and address identified barriers in a timely manner.

5. Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some third-party content or embedded tools (e.g., scheduling platforms, patient portal systems) may not yet fully meet these standards, as they are outside our direct control. We actively communicate with our technology partners to encourage accessibility improvements.

6. Requesting an Accommodation

If you encounter an accessibility barrier — whether physical, digital, or communicative — or require a specific accommodation to access our services or information, please contact us. We will respond promptly and work with you to find a solution.

Please describe the accessibility barrier or accommodation you are requesting so we can respond most effectively. We aim to respond to all accessibility inquiries within 2 business days.

7. Feedback

Your feedback helps us improve. If you find a part of our website or office that is not accessible to you, or if you have suggestions for improvement, we want to hear from you. Contact us using the information in Section 6.

8. Non-Discrimination

Romans Orthodontics does not discriminate in the provision of services on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. We comply with applicable federal civil rights laws, including Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. If you believe you have been subject to discrimination in receiving our services, you may contact the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights at 1-800-368-1019 or hhs.gov/ocr.
