The commitment

Romans Orthodontics wants every person who needs an orthodontist to be able to use this website: to read it, to find the address and the phone number, and to ask for an appointment. If any part of it stops you, the practice wants to hear about it and will help you by phone in the meantime.

The standard being worked toward

The site is being built toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, level AA. That is a target, not a claim. No formal audit has been run against the site, by the practice or by anyone else, so this page does not say the site conforms.

What has been done so far

Specific things carried through the build, so you know what to expect:

• Every page can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and the focused element is visibly outlined.
• A skip to content link is the first thing in the tab order on every page.
• Photographs carry descriptive alternative text, and decorative shapes are hidden from screen readers.
• Text and button colors were checked for contrast against their backgrounds.
• Buttons, menu items and links in the navigation are sized for a finger, not just a mouse pointer.
• Headings run in order so a screen reader can move through a page by structure.

Known limitations

Being honest about the gaps matters more than a badge. As of today there has been no independent audit and no testing session with people who use assistive technology. Until that happens, the practice cannot list every barrier that exists on the site, only the ones people report.

No independent audit has been carried out, so we do not claim formal conformance. What we can tell you is what was done during the build: every page was checked with automated accessibility testing, operated by keyboard alone, given a skip link and visible focus outlines, checked for heading order and for text contrast, given descriptive alternative text on images, and measured at phone, tablet and desktop widths with touch targets kept at 46 pixels. Automated testing currently reports no outstanding issues, which is a useful signal and not a substitute for testing by people who rely on assistive technology.

How to report a barrier

Call (623) 320-1222 or email hello@romansorthodontics.com. Tell us the page you were on and what you were trying to do. Anything you can do on this site can also be done by phone, including asking for a consultation, so nothing has to wait for a fix.

If you use a telecommunications relay service, dial 711 and give the operator the office number above.

Reports come straight to the practice rather than to a web team, and are read by the office staff who answer the phone and the email above.

We respond at the earliest convenience. If something on this site is stopping you booking or finding what you need, calling the office is the fastest route and someone can take the information over the phone instead.

The office itself

The office is on the ground level with parking at the door.

The office is a ground-level suite, so there are no stairs between the parking area and the front door, and there are reserved spaces immediately outside. If you have a specific access requirement, call ahead and the office will make arrangements before your visit.
