The short version
Six reasons Anthem families stay.
Each one is checkable. Three of them get the long version further down the page, with a patient or peer review attached.
- 01
One doctor, one location, one focus
Every case is planned and finished by Dr. Romans. No associate rotation, no second office splitting his week, and no general dentist doing orthodontics on the side.
- 02
Board-certified, which is voluntary
DMD, MSD, and certification by the American Board of Orthodontics. No orthodontist is required to sit those exams, and most do not.
- 03
Training that went past the residency
A master’s with orthodontic specialty training, research into Invisalign outcomes, and a craniofacial cleft and palate fellowship at a children’s hospital.
- 04
Every age in one office
A first evaluation at seven, a teenager in aligners, an adult finally treating their own bite. All routine here, which means one practice instead of three.

Your insurance, checked while you sit there
Major PPO plans verified during the visit, not mailed as an estimate later. FSA and HSA funds apply, and remaining balances are financed in house.

Independent and doctor-owned
Not a chain and not a DSO. Dr. Romans owns this practice outright, so treatment decisions answer to him and to you, and to nobody with a quarterly target.
From Dr. Romans
“I opened one office so I could be the one who knows your case. If a treatment plan needs changing, you hear it from me, at the chair, in plain words. That is the whole reason this practice is built the way it is.”

Reason 01
One orthodontist, start to finish
In a lot of practices the doctor who plans your case is not the doctor who adjusts it, and the person who says it is finished has met you twice. Here there is one orthodontist, so the diagnosis, the wire changes, the debond and the retainer check are all the same judgment applied by the same person. It also means appointments are not rushed to clear a shared schedule.
Read Dr. Romans’s background →“Dr. Romans has a way of explaining things clearly and honestly. You never feel rushed, and it’s obvious he wants people to make informed decisions about their care.”

Reasons 02 & 03
Board-certified, and trained past the residency
Board certification by the American Board of Orthodontics is voluntary. An orthodontist can practise a full career without ever submitting finished cases to a panel of examiners. Dr. Romans did. Behind it: a biology degree from the University of Kansas, a DMD and a Certificate in Public Health from A.T. Still University, an MSD from Saint Louis University with orthodontic specialty training and research into Invisalign outcomes, then a craniofacial cleft and palate fellowship through Washington University, based at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
“As a fellow orthodontist, I had the privilege of working with Dr. Romans for over 2 years. Dr. Romans knows how to deliver a beautiful smile AND a healthy bite that will last a lifetime…”
Dr. Jacob Shelley, a fellow orthodontist. This is a peer review, not a patient’s.

Reason 05
Your insurance, checked while you sit there
Major PPO plans are verified during the consultation rather than mailed out as an estimate a week later. FSA and HSA funds apply. Whatever the plan does not cover can be financed in house, without a third-party lender in the middle. The consultation itself is free, and the figure you leave with is exact rather than a range.
Read how insurance and financing work →“I have nothing but good things to say about this office and team. They went above and beyond to resolve my insurance claim and talk me through the process. The space is professional and clean. Kazja and Dr Romans are amazing!”

Proof, matched to the claim
Complicated cases get coordinated, not referred away.
A missing tooth, an impacted canine, a bite that needs a periodontist and a general dentist working to the same plan. That is what the craniofacial and specialty training is for.

Independent and doctor-owned
Romans Orthodontics is not part of a chain or a dental service organization. Dr. Romans owns it outright, which is why the treatment plan, the appointment length and the payment arrangement are all decided in this building. If something needs changing, there is one person to ask.
